Linde systematically identifies, assesses and minimises risks. To do so we have set up corresponding systems for all key business processes.
Linde's Enterprise Risk Management system covers financial, ecological and social risks. These include environmental and safety risks, human resources risks, risks to the company's reputation, legal risks, risks resulting from possible political, legal or social upheaval, and risks associated with pandemics.

Management systems for safety and environmental protection: Our SHEQ management systems are aimed at identifying and minimising risks in the areas of safety, health, environment and quality. The management systems are closely coordinated with the processes in the relevant business areas. We also include contractors and other suppliers in our management systems.

Compliance programme: Our compliance programme is designed to prevent misconduct, to identify breaches of laws or company guidelines and, if necessary, to take measures to resolve any violations.

Supply chain management: Along with quality, price and availability, key factors when choosing suppliers also include environmental protection, social responsibility and good business practices. Our Code of Conduct for Suppliers also obliges suppliers to comply with certain social, environmental and ethical minimum standards.

Social risks: We monitor adherence to labour and social standards in several steps. One key component is a regular survey of how our businesses have instituted processes to ensure fair working conditions. Another tool is our Integrity Line, which allows employees and external stakeholders to report suspected cases of misconduct.
Stakeholder dialogue: Maintaining constant dialogue with our stakeholders allows us to identify important issues and to assess their relevance for Linde. If necessary, we adapt our focus areas or define targets and measures to minimise risks that have been identified.
