We protect our employees and contractors from potential risks associated with their work for Linde. We use our SHEQ (safety, health, environment and quality) management system to systematically identify hazard sources in the workplace and to develop measures to minimise identified risks. Defined indicators are used to assess our performance, and audits serve to check our compliance with standards.
We continuously work to further develop our safety and health management. Through targeted training courses, we educate our employees and contractors on health and safety issues. Campaigns aimed at increasing employee awareness also contribute to a strong culture of safety within the company.
The priorities of our occupational health and safety activities vary depending on the requirements of our business areas. Our occupational health activities focus in particular on risks associated with manual and repetitive labour. We have put together a global management team for this area to coordinate all measures worldwide.
Regional initiatives complement and round out our occupational health management. One example of this is our health programme for employees with HIV or AIDS at our South African subsidiary, Afrox.
