As part of the joint venture between Linde and the US company Waste Management Inc., biogas is to be used as a fuel in California.
Linde is responsible for engineering and building the plant, as well as for purifying and subsequently liquefying the landfill gas.
Waste Management, North America’s leading waste management company, will be supplying the gas obtained from biological compost. The plant will produce as much as 50,000 litres of liquid biogas every day.
In addition to the joint venture with Waste Management Inc., Linde supplies customers and partners around the globe with technologies for processing, purifying, transporting and storing biogas. Our eleven biogas fuelling stations in Stockholm and the surrounding area are just one example.
We also supply gas to other fuelling stations and provide the refuelling pumps. The biogas itself is produced at landfill sites nearby. Initially, 300 waste collection trucks of Waste Management Inc. will be fuelled with the biogas.
