The Linde Group supports numerous foundations to promote education, science and research.

The Carl von Linde Foundation at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) was established in 1932 with the aim of supporting education and research and helping to train young scientists and engineers in the German state of Bavaria.

The Dr Friedrich Linde Foundation was established in 1940 to mark the 70th birthday of Dr Friedrich Linde, the son of our founder and Chairman of the Linde AG Executive Board at the time.

The foundation provides scholarships to talented young employees and their children. Although these are primarily intended for those looking to study technical subjects related to our company, the foundation also provides support for business programmes.

In our Healthcare segment, research activities primarily focus on clinical applications of gases and the development of medical devices for treating chronic respiratory problems.

For more than 15 years now, Linde has supported research bodies in their quest to find new uses for medical gases.
