For our purposes, donations refer to money or non-cash benefits that we give to other organisations without expecting any service or payment in return.

This definition encompasses memberships of associations or organisations with no direct connection to our business activities, where our contribution is similar to a donation.

Our voluntary contributions are primarily channelled into:

• Education

• Science

• Social initiatives

We also support the preservation and development of democratic principles in society. Our donation activities are mainly concentrated in the areas where our employees live and work.

We do not engage with for-profit organisations or those that operate outside the law.

Cross-regional or cross-location donations are generally managed by Group headquarters. Regional or local donations are made by relevant management in line with our general guidelines.

The Linde Group’s sponsoring guidelines differentiate between various target groups.

They give us a planning and organisation framework that maximises uniformity across the Group.

The projects we sponsor support Linde’s corporate communication activities in a number of ways.

• Our sponsorship provides convincing proof of our commitment to people, organisations and institutions.

• Our sponsoring activities give us a valuable opportunity to engage with our stakeholders, including investors, customers, employees, suppliers and service providers, and the general public.

• Our sponsored projects strengthen The Linde Group and its brands.
