We set key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets to help us track our economic, ecological and social performance. We use them to measure our progress and to identify scope for improvement. Internationally recognised standards are taken into consideration for the selection and publishing of our non-financial data.
We publish the most important non-financial KPIs in our financial report. Our annual corporate responsibility report covers additional KPIs regarding sustainability priorities at Linde. Selected KPIs are audited and confirmed by third parties.

At The Linde Group, we are committed to continuous development and improvement. That is why we set ourselves regional and global goals, against which we can measure our performance. Our corporate responsibility report provides a brief overview of the most important global sustainability goals and their respective implementation status.

We cover key sustainability issues for our company as part of our corporate responsibility reporting activities. Internationally recognised reporting standards serve as our benchmark. These include recommendations by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), an independent organisation that publishes guidelines on sustainability reporting.
Every year, we publish a Communication on Progress within the framework of our UN Global Compact membership. In it, we report on how we incorporate the ten Global Compact principles into our business activities. The Global Compact Communication on Progress is part of the corporate responsibility report.

Our technologies contribute to tackling societal challenges such as energy security, environmentally friendly mobility and demographic change. Regarding the growth markets of the future, Linde has identified energy and the environment, the healthcare business and emerging economies as the drivers offering the biggest potential. Our business strategy aligns with these three megatrends – all of them having a high relevance for sustainable development.
If possible, we also state in figures the value of our products with regard to sustainability. Life-cycle analyses are one such example. In customer projects, we analyse and calculate possibilities to save energy and reduce the environmental footprint.
